Mayer Viscosity Apparatus

A brass disc of 70mm diameter & 8mm thickness is suspended vertically with the help of steel wire. The central rod has a perpendicular screw with two movable masses on opposite sides, allowing for levelling the disc horizontally. A small concave mirror is mounted on the rod, and a lamp and scale arrangement are used to project a beam of light, which is reflected by the mirror on to a scale.
