Helmholtz Galvanometer

It consists of two equal coaxial coils (parallel to each other) separated by a distance equal to the radius of the coils. The permanent magnetic compass is pivoted on the brass cup in the midway between them and in the same direction. The coils increase the uniformity of the fields in the
