The setup involves a wooden meter scale suspended by two fine parallel wires attached to a support frame. The wires pass through small chucks at the top frame and are secured in the bifilar bar (the wooden meter scale) by similar chucks, allowing the cords' lengths to be adjusted by loosening the chucks.
The system includes four sliders with chucks and two sets of weight hanger clamps. The weight sets consist of two sets of 200 gm weights and two sets of 500 gm weights. The apparatus is designed to allow for precise adjustments of the cord lengths and the
addition of weights to explore the effects of forces and tension on the meter scale.
